About Moen Technologies LLC
Moen Technologies LLC is a technology licensing company that was established by General Patent Corporation to expand the uses and applications for the debit-platform telecommunications technology covered by U.S. Patent No. 5,438,615, “Method of providing message service for pinless limited access telecommunications,” and U.S. Patent Nos. 5,592,537 and 5,864,604 both titled “Method of providing message service for limited access telecommunications.” Dr. Arthur “Skip” Moen was inventor of the ‘615 and ‘537 patents, and was the co-inventor with Dr. Alexander Poltorak of the ‘604 patent.
Moen Technologies is a portfolio company of IP Holdings LLC, the IP-centric merchant banking affiliate of General Patent Corporation. Moen Technologies was managed by GPC which was also the exclusive licensing agent for the Moen patents.
General Patent’s monetization efforts on behalf of Moen Technologies was most successful. General Patent Corporation asserted the company’s patents by filing patent infringement lawsuits against PepsiCo, Inc. and the Coca Cola Company. Both companies settled the lawsuit brought against them and licensed the Moen patents. Subsequent to that, General Patent found a buyer, AVAT Consulting LLC, for the Moen patents.
